We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!

Partner with us to welcome the first 40 girls to the dormitory in July 2021

The Kibera Girls Soccer Academy provides a free holistic secondary education to 130 girls annually in the informal settlement of Kibera in Nairobi, Kenya. For years the girls have dreamed of a dormitory.

In 2015, twenty-six individuals climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro raising money to construct a dormitory and provide safe housing for girls. There were many challenges along the way, but in February of 2020 we finally broke ground on the three-story building. Shortly afterwards, construction halted due to the pandemic, but resumed in December 2020. Thanks to your generous support through the years, the KGSA dormitory is finally constructed!

The dormitory will provide three meals a day and a safe and stable environment for our most vulnerable girls improving their well-being and academic performance. The building has a school cafeteria and library on the bottom floor with dormitories and study spaces on the top two floors. The rooftop is a functional recreational area to play soccer, volleyball or basketball.

Please continue to partner with us to raise $30,000 to welcome the first 40 girls at the end of July. The funds will be used in the following ways:

  • $1,000 for kitchen utensils and equipment
  • $4,000 for dining tables and chairs
  • $10,000 for bunkbeds, mattresses, linens and pajamas for 40 girls ($250 per girl)
  • $15,000 for a fence and security cameras to keep the girls safe

Last spring, you helped us raise $36K for Covid relief that was a tremendous support to the girls and their families. We're certain that together we can again meet their needs and reach our goal, but we need everyone's help to get there.

With the 2020 seniors rocking their KCSE exams despite the challenges of the pandemic. imagine what the girls can achieve living in a supportive, safe learning environment with 3 meals a day! Any donations raised above our $30,000 goal will go towards the school's general operating costs.
